Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-10-01

These terms govern your use of the Legebla API and legebla.com. By using the API, you agree to them.

The service

Legebla provides an API that renders HTML, a web page URL, a data-driven template or Markdown into a PDF document or an image (PNG, JPEG or WebP), and processes PDF files you supply (merging and splitting). Optional features include watermarks, password protection and permissions, compression, document information, PDF/A and ZUGFeRD output, and a sandbox mode for testing. The result is returned in the API response or, if you choose, uploaded to storage you control through a pre-signed URL you provide. The service is provided on an "early access" basis — features, limits and pricing may change as the product matures.

Accounts & API keys

You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential and for all activity under your account. Contact us immediately if you believe a key has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You may not use the service to render content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or to attempt to abuse, overload or probe the rendering infrastructure (including using URL inputs or upload destinations to reach internal or non-public network resources), or to send credentials for pages you are not authorized to access.

Plans, quotas & billing

Each plan includes a monthly document quota, counted per account in a calendar month (UTC). When the quota is used up, requests are paused on every plan until it resets at the start of the next month or you upgrade; there are no overage charges. Requests in sandbox mode do not count toward the quota; a document that was created counts even if delivery to your own storage fails. Paid plans are billed by Polar.sh as Merchant of Record; refunds and billing disputes are handled per Polar's terms.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not currently offer a contractual uptime commitment. Early access means occasional maintenance or incidents are possible; live status is published at https://status.legebla.com.

Data you submit

You are responsible for the content you send to the API (HTML, Markdown, URLs, template data, PDF files, and any credentials or upload URLs you include). As described in our Privacy Policy, this content is processed transiently and not stored after the response is returned. If you use upload, the result is delivered to the storage you designate, and its handling there is your responsibility.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms or acceptable use, or for non-payment.

Liability

The service is provided "as is" during early access, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legebla is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the API.
